An engagement with the Marine Unit helped clarify coordination and follow-up for ADAAM’s drowning prevention advocacy.

ADAAM met the Uganda Police Force Marine Unit and National Drowning Prevention Programme Coordinator Bashir Siriba at Kigo on 30 June 2026. The engagement strengthened the working relationship between ADAAM and the government coordination office for drowning prevention.

ADAAM identified its Policy Lead, Alan Mugume, as the focal person for follow-up. Subsequent engagement focused on formal introductions, coordinated communication and the pathway for further national consultations. The meeting formed part of ADAAM’s government-led approach to connecting policy advocacy with water safety and enforcement priorities.
