Community engagement connects drowning prevention with local experience
Reported outreach linked school and community experience with water-safety advocacy in three high-risk areas.
ADAAM’s first interim narrative report records three high-risk area engagement clusters in Mayuge, Rakai and Masaka during May to August 2026. Activities included school outreach, community dialogue, survival-swimming activities and a procession at Lambu Fishing Site.
These engagements brought community and school realities into a project that also works on national coordination, policy evidence and inland water transport safety. The report identifies the completed clusters as part of the reporting-period work, with further engagement planned in the next period.
Further community feedback will inform continued work with institutions and partners on drowning prevention priorities.
